This year Daytona Dance Spree celebrated its 25th year. The theme was “The Royal Affair.”
We were greeted by the Daytona Beach Chapter “Royal Court” who were there in their queen, king, or court jester outfits.

Eight chapters total were represented this year~ Daytona, Ocala, Suncoast, Southern Star (Tampa), North Star (Jacksonville), Central Florida (Orlando), Greater Macon, and Tallahassee. There were over 100 people in attendance.
We kicked off Friday night with a wonderful Bolero lesson with Joe Mounts followed by dinner.

Starting at 9 AM we had a full day of workshops on Saturday with Joe Mounts from Ocean’s Dance Studio in Daytona, LaDonna Campbell, and Louis Schreiber from Downtown Dance Studio in Titusville, and Magdalena Piekarz from Elite Dance and Travel in Palm Coast.
Saturday evening started with a delicious catered dinner, followed by the Greater Daytona Chapter kicking off the evening with a Snowball mixer. It was so nice seeing so many new faces this year and the familiar faces that have attended year after year.
Bobby and Monica Wiech performed their “Waltz” exhibitions on Saturday. It is always a pleasure to watch this couple dance.
The Greater Daytona Chapter Board was in full force to help with the event, Greg Marcum, President, Jean Krupa, VP, Bobby Wiech, Marta Barker, Monica Wiech, and Denny Bolling. Thanks to you all for your hard work.
By far, the best Daytona Dance Spree I have attended. The food was excellent. The workshops were a great variety of dance types and skill levels with some of the best instructors. Daytona Dance Spree has been a highlight of my traveling dancing for many years and I hope to continue returning to Gold Star Ballroom to meet and dance with USA Dance chapters from all over Florida and Georgia! I loved the Suncoast Chapter’s theme and enjoyed making new friends. I hope you will join us next year!
